At the Y, we teach youth, teens, and adults to swim, so they can stay safe around water and learn the skills they need to make swimming a lifelong pursuit for staying healthy.Y swim instructors are nationally certified in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration. Swim lessons provide important life skills that could save a life and will benefit students for a lifetime.
Swimming is one of life’s most essential skills: the ability to swim can help save your life or someone else's life, while introducing you to a lifetime of healthy, enjoyable activity in the water.
We offer lessons tailored for children and adults of all ages and abilities, and are committed to helping everyone in our community develop the skills they need to become strong, confident swimmers!

Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills through fun and confidence-building experiences, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention and the importance of supervision.
Lessons include:
Introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment.
Focuses on exploring body positions, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety and aquatic skills.
Swim Basics Swimming Lesons focus on developing swim readiness skills through fun and confidence building experiences. As participants further progress, they will be taught stroke development, including competitive strokes and techniques.

Lessons include a progression of skill development from basic to advanced. Participants will begin with skills that focus on buoyancy and movement in water progressing to stroke introduction, development and mechanics.
Swim Strokes Swimming Lesons focus on developing swim readiness skills through fun and confidence building experiences. As participants further progress, they will be taught stroke development, including competitive strokes and techniques.

Teen and Adult Swimming Lessons are available for anyone ages 13 years of age and older.
Lessons are customized based on the participants skill level.
Private Swimming Lessons (3 & Up)
Private swimming lessons are 30 minutes in length. Private lessons are taught one on one with the instructor.
Please register for private swimming lessons in person at your local Y. Please contact the Aquatics Director at your local Y for instructor availability.
We offer swimming lessons during YMCA Summer Camp for anyone who wants their child to learn to swim. Campers are provided lessons during the day while attending camp. To register for summer camp lessons, participants must be enrolled in YMCA summer camp and must take lessons where they are enrolled.
