More than 250 guests attended the YMCA of the Capital Area’s Annual Meeting on April 19 at Crowne Plaza. The YMCA Annual Meeting Celebration is an event that recognizes volunteers, donors and partners who helped advance the Y’s cause to strengthen the foundation of our community.

The  Myron Falk Fundraising Award recipient was John Ryan Nader. Nader, a committed Y volunteer, has served as a fundraiser and has served as the Board Chair, Annual Support Campaign Chair and Major Gifts Chair for the A. C. Lewis YMCA.   

John Stagg received the Edward D. Grant Volunteerism Award. John was an instrumental part of the board development, capital campaign and tennis program. He has served on the Board of Directors and serves as the Finance Chair for the Americana YMCA.

The Y also recognized branch volunteers of the year. Recipients included; Will Robbins from the Baranco Clark YMCA, Thomas Szekely from the C. B. Pennington Jr. YMCA, Rose Willis from the Charles W. Lamar Jr. YMCA, Megan Sias from the Dow Westside YMCA, Gregory Williams from the ExxonMobil YMCA, Laura Patterson from the Paula G. Manship YMCA and Jeremy Coco from the Southside YMCA.
