This December, the YMCA of the Capital Area will be hosting its 14th Annual Angel Tree Giving Program. Community members will be able to select an angel from a YMCA Christmas tree, and each angel will state a child’s gender, age and requested gift to open on Christmas morning. We ask that all gifts be donated by December 18 so that gifts can be distributed to families in time.

The YMCA of the Capital Area hosted its annual Cornerstone Endowment Dinner for its donors on Wednesday, October 25 at the City Club of Baton Rouge. The Y recognized various lifetime members and donors, and presented them with vases as a token of our appreciation. The YMCA Cornerstone Endowment Fund began in 1998 after realizing how this fund could help sustain the Y. As of today, the 2017 balance at the Baton Rouge Area Foundation has grown to $4,153,115. Through differed estate and life insurance giving there is a total of $596,000, bringing the cash and pledged amount to $4,749,115.
