If you participate in our group exercise classes, we ask that you please take a moment to fill out our group exercise survey so we can continue to meet the needs of our members and improve our services.

AMERIGROUP SCHOLARSHIPS
The ExxonMobil YMCA would like to thank Amerigroup Louisiana for sponsoring children to participate in summer camp for the fifth consecutive year. This funding allowed many children to have the best summer ever! They learned to swim, made new friends and were active and healthy. Thank you Amerigroup!

FALL SPORTS REGISTRATION
Registration is now open for Fall youth sports! If you want your child to improve their skills, make new friends, be active with other kids and have fun, then register them for YMCA sports.
 
Register now for soccer, flag-football, cheerleading and volleyball.
 
Registration ends August 20.

                                         AFTER-SCHOOL CARE
As children transition from summer to fall, the Y is the perfect place to keep youth active, busy and engaged during out-of-school time with our after-school program.
 
After-school care will be offered at the locations:

STEM PROGRAM
The Y encourages kids to explore science, technology, engineering and math with our free STEM program at Dow Westside YMCA. Give your child the power of knowledge and the confidence to learn, building a foundation in STEM early to empower their future and ours. This month's FREE session will be August 19 from 9 am to 12 pm.For more information contact Jessica at 225-687-1123.
 
 
 
 
 
  
 

COMMUNITY RECOGNITION

Several of our Y swim instructors were presented with certificates of recognition for outstanding service to the community at City-Brooks pool. Congrats to these instructors for displaying the Y's core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring, while teaching aquatic skills and personal safety. They were officially recognized on Tuesday, July 25, at 6 pm at Baker City Hall.

 

 
AUGUST HISTORY
  • In August 1999 the YMCA Cornerstone Club unveiled the Endowment Program.
  • On August 13, 2009 a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the future site of the ExxonMobil YMCA.
  • On August 12, 2013 the Americana YMCA opened with a 26,000 square foot facility that resides on 5.25 acres of land.
