We are excited to welcome you back!

The YMCA of the Capital Area will reopen seven locations with limited amenities on May 18 as part of a phased in approach to open back up. The reopening of the facilities follows Gov. John Bel Edwards’ decision earlier this week to allow for the reopening of gym facilities.

Phase one of reopening Y branches will follow protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and Louisiana Department of Public Health. The protocols include regular temperature checks of staff, designating entry and exit points, cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and shared spaces, social and physical distancing, spacing of fitness equipment, wearing of masks by staff, and controlling traffic patterns within the facility.

For Y branches opening May 18, only the wellness space will be available with restricted access to lap pools. Starting May 25, group exercise and limited access to locker rooms will be available.

Further progression will continue through additional phases in June, July and August which will reflect services and activities similar to YMCA operations pre-COVID-19.

All members will need to update their information and sign a new waiver. You may download the waiver here and bring it with you on your next visit.
